(Oct. 10, 2016) – Susan D. Ruppert, Ph.D., R.N., professor of clinical nursing in UTHealth School of Nursing’s Department of Acute and Continuing Care, has been re-elected as chair of the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Board of Commissioners. Her second term starts January 1, 2017.
“I look forward to continuing my work with the CCNE officers and Board of Commissioners on the important issues facing both nursing and accreditation,” Ruppert said after the election of officers. “In keeping with the CCNE values, we will continue to engage our community of interest and foster continuous quality improvement and innovation in baccalaureate and graduate nursing education programs and entry-to practice nurse residency programs.”
Ruppert is coordinator of UTHealth’s Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) program, as well as director of the Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner track.
Ruppert’s service to CCNE began in 2010 when she was selected, through a competitive national process, to serve as a volunteer on-site evaluator in the accreditation process. Her current (and final) term on the autonomous accrediting agency’s board will expire on December 31, 2018.
