Supporting Aging in Place Through Partnerships with Technology

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Cizik School of Nursing has built a Smart Apartment, a real world living home environment laboratory (fully functioning kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom) to investigate aging in place with thoughtful and appropriate use of technology such as sensors, monitors, robots, wearables, and other devices to support independent living. The goal of this event is to promote interdisciplinary research alliances to develop and evaluate innovative solutions that assist older adults to remain in their own home.
