Marie McBee brings to the Department of Nursing Systems more than 20 years of experience in senior-level hospital administration as a Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Vice President, Quality Officer and Risk Director at the local, state and national levels of health care. She is educated as a clinical nurse specialist in advance practice in Psychiatric Mental Health and in leadership at the graduate level. McBee currently teaches in the Master's, BSN and RN to BSN Leadership Program and is a past lead coordinator for the undergraduate Psych/Mental Health clinical program at The University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHealth) at Houston.

She earned her BSN degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas, and her MSN in Mental Health and Leadership at UTHealth School of Nursing. Currently a DNP-Executive Leadership doctoral student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, her degree completion is expected in 2016.

McBee was named a 2014 American Association of Colleges of Nurses, Johnson and Johnson Minority Scholar (a nation-wide competitive process with only five chosen each year).
