Deniz Dishman, PhD, DNAP, MSN, CRNA is an assistant professor in the Department of Research at the Cizik School of Nursing. Dr. Dishman is a practicing CRNA for over twenty years and maintains a clinical practice in the Texas Medical Center. Dr. Dishman’s research training and goals are fueled by her clinical experiences as a nurse anesthetist and center on factors that improve provider situation awareness to effectuate patient safety and positive population health outcomes. Dr. Dishman’s research goals led to her current examination of in-office pediatric dental sedation outcomes and investigations targeting acute and chronic pain management in population health. Dr. Dishman is the author of several peer-reviewed publications.

Clinical/Research Focus
Dr. Dishman’s current research investigations examine adverse events related to in-office sedation for pediatric dental procedures through collaboration with the UTH School of Dentistry, and acute and chronic pain management in stroke survivors through collaboration with the UT Institute for Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease.
