Assistant Professor

Department of Research

Dr. Qi Qin is a nurse researcher specializing in wound care, wound healing, and chronic wound prevention. She began her nursing training in China and later continued her career in Japan, where her clinical work in orthopedic and plastic surgery wards sparked a focus on diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). She earned her PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Tokyo in 2024, where she also served as an Assistant Professor in Gerontological Nursing/Wound Care Management.

Dr. Qin’s research integrates clinical practice, epidemiology, and basic science, spanning nurse-led DFU prevention programs in underserved communities to biomarker discovery for hard-to-heal wounds using advanced single-cell RNA sequencing and bioinformatics. A key focus of her work is the development and clinical application of visualization tools, including thermography, to enhance risk stratification, detect early warning signs, and strengthen patient understanding of preventive strategies.

Dr. Qin has published her findings in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of International Nursing Studies and Wound Repair and Regeneration. Her goal is to advance translational nursing research that improves prevention, elevates patient outcomes, and optimizes healthcare resources.
