Susan Alderman, PhD, RN, has been a registered nurse since 1987. She currently serves as nursing faculty at Cizik School of Nursing. She also serves as a manuscript reviewer for several neurology journals and has had a research manual accepted for publication. Dr. Alderman has worked as a nurse research coordinator (2008-2014) for the Dept. of Neurology/ Stroke Team and as Clinical Research Director (2016-2024) at the Institute for Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease, McGovern Medical School. Dr. Alderman has served as primary investigator for three trials and worked on various industry and NIH trials, including the first US trial using stem cells to treat acute stroke. Dr. Alderman has presented at numerous national and international conferences. Her dissertation work received substantial support from the Partner’s Nursing scholarship program and as a NIH StrokeNet trainee/Fellow (2016-2017).
