Mustafa Yildiz is an assistant professor at the Cizik School of Nursing at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) in the Department of Research, where he joined in December 2023. He is a methodological researcher in the behavioral sciences with a focus on the measurement of human behavior. His work centers on psychometrics and advanced statistical modeling, including multilevel models and latent variable models for longitudinal data, particularly in caregiver populations. He also develops and evaluates psychometric instruments, with a focus on identifying and correcting measurement bias and ensuring validity and equivalence across diverse caregiver populations. In addition, he applies advanced causal modeling approaches, such as Bayesian network analysis, to examine dynamic symptom processes and interdependencies in behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia. In addition to applied analyses using real-world datasets, he conducts simulation studies to address methodological research questions. Over the years, he has taught courses in measurement and statistics and has worked as a statistician prior to his current appointment.
