Latarsha Cheatham, DNP, RN-BC, APRN, FNP-BC is an assistant professor in the Department of Graduate Studies. Dr. Cheatham received her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Cizik School of Nursing at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where she received the Joanne V. Hickey DNP Scholars Award in 2017. She continued her education by completing the post-master’s program in Nursing Education in 2020 at Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston. She has most recently practiced at Pearland Family Wellness Clinic and worked for several years at CHI Baylor St. Luke’s Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. Previously, she served as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in various settings after earning her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2005.

Clinical/Research Focus
Dr. Cheatham has been a nurse practitioner for over seventeen years. She worked for several years at CHI Baylor St. Luke’s Hospital in the Texas Medical Center as a nurse practitioner and maintains a clinical practice in Pearland, Texas.
