Dr. Bailes began her nursing career in emergency care and operating room nursing. She earned her BSN from Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, Texas, her MSN from Texas Woman’s University in Houston, Texas and her Ed.D. from University of Houston. She began as a faculty member in the undergraduate program moving into the graduate program to focus on the nurse practitioner programs. Her interests have always been with adults. She currently teaches in the graduate program focusing on the nurse practitioner curricula.

Clinical/Research Focus
Currently, the primary area of expertise is as a nurse practitioner helping students learn the skills of a nurse practitioner and also providing care to patients at a clinic that provides care for the “working poor”. Area of expertise include addiction, chronic disease, particularly diabetes and the elderly.
