Dr. Fowler is track director for the MSN in Nursing Leadership and Administration program and also the head of the Division of Management and Education in the Nursing Systems Department. She developed the curriculum and taught in the Nurse Executive option of the DNP program.

For four years, she served as the Nursing Career Coach at Harris Health System in Houston, where she consulted with nurses who wished to advance their careers and with employees who were interested in pursuing a nursing career. She has held numerous nursing administration positions, including roles at the Visiting Nurse Association Los Angeles and Cedars Sinai Medical Center. 

Fowler has focused her teaching, practice and scholarship in the areas of nursing administration, professional development of nurses, and the scholarship of teaching and learning related to education of nurse leaders.  She is active in several professional nursing organizations. She is a recognized by the National League for Nursing as a Certified Nurse Educator and as a Nurse Executive Advanced-Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Fowler received her BSN from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, formerly Northeast Louisiana University.  She earned the Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and her MBA degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu, Cal. She received her PhD in Nursing Science from Texas Woman’s University in Houston.
