Sydnee Lucas, DNP, RN, FNP-BC, is a Family Nurse Practitioner, Co-Coordinator for the Family Nurse Practitioner Track, and Assistant Professor of Graduate Studies – Clinical Track at the Cizik School of Nursing. Her teaching duties involve leading and co-teaching across multiple courses in the graduate program.

She has a background working with pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients in under-resourced communities around Houston. She has presented on Adolescent Consent and Confidentiality, Contraceptive Options for Adolescent Patients, Social Determinant of Health Screenings, Management of Pediatric Behavioral Health Disorders in an Integrated Pediatric Medical Home, and Judicious Antibiotic Prescribing for Pediatric URI. Sydnee joined the faculty of UTHealth in January 2021.

Dr. Lucas currently serves as nursing faculty for the Baylor-TMC Leadership Education in Adolescent Health (LEAH) grant through the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB). She is in her second term as secretary for the Texas Chapter of the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM), an Education Strategy Team member for the SAHM Aspirational Strategic Planning Committee, a term-appointed member of the SAHM Education Committee, and Chair of the SAHM Nursing Special Interest Group.
