Mahrokh M Kobeissi, DNP, RN, FNP-C
Mitzy Kobeissi has been a practicing Family Nurse Practitioner for 8 years. At Cizik School of Nursing, She is the FNP Program Co-Track Coordinator. Her teaching duties encompass leading multiple courses in the graduate program, specifically Family Nurse Practitioner 1 didactic and clinical, and FNP Preceptorship. She also has led multiple DNP courses.
Mitzy owns and operates her telehealth service and has patients across the state of Texas. Mitzy joined the faculty of UTHealth in January 2018 as adjunct clinical faculty. After working as clinical faculty for two semesters, Mitzy joined the faculty as a full-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Graduate studies. Mitzy has blended her online telehealth experience in leading FNP through the transition to an interactive online platform. She incorporates adult game based learning during live interactive sessions with students and draws the highest number of students joining an online virtual class.
Mitzy’s area of scholarship is Telehealth and she is currently working on developing a Telehealth Education Program for the Cizik School of Nursing. Mitzy’s interest are integrating technology in healthcare.
Mitzy is a member of AANP, Sigma Theta Tau, and AAFP.
Among her significant honors are: One of the finalists for the McGovern Teaching Award in May 2019, Faculty Award of Excellence/DNP Program 8/2015, PARTNERS Scholar (full tuition paid) 8/2013-8/2015, Accelerated DNP Scholarship.
Mitzy received her BSN from Houston Baptist University. She earned the Master of Science and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from UT Health Science Center at Houston. Mitzy earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree from UT Health Science Center at Houston.
