Hyochol "Brian" Ahn, PhD, RN, MSN, MS-ECE, MS-CTS, ANP-BC
Dr. Hyochol "Brian" Ahn received his PhD in Nursing Science in May 2012 from the University of Florida College of Nursing, where he previously earned his MSN and BSN degrees. He also holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He joined the faculty of UTHealth School of Nursing in August 2016.
Ahn’s overall research goal is to establish a program of clinical and translational research that enhances health and independence in older adults using innovative technologies to optimize pain management. Currently, he is principal investigator on a grant that investigates the efficacy of innovative computer technologies, such as noninvasive brain stimulation, on pain and mobility performance in older adults with chronic pain with funding from the National Institute of Health (NIH)/National Institute on Aging (NIA) Claude D. Pepper Older American’s Independence Center. He also has been a co-investigator on several collaborative grants on pain and aging.
