Christian P Owen, MSN, RN, CEN
Christian “Paige” Owen, MSN, RN, CEN, is an Instructor of Clinical Nursing in the Undergraduate Department. She is an alumna of the Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston, where she received her BSN in 2007 and MSN in Leadership and Administration in 2019. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Nursing, also at Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston, advancing knowledge and research on secondary traumatic stress among emergency nurses. In 2021, Owen was 1 of 75 nationwide doctoral students named a Jonas Scholar in mental health through Jonas Philanthropies.
Owen’s clinical background is grounded in the emergency department, having served in various roles including bedside nurse, charge nurse, EMS Instructor, ED Educator, and Forensic Nurse Examiner. She’s been a board-Certified Emergency Nurse since 2010. Owen is actively involved as a board member of the Houston Emergency Nurses Association and Zeta Pi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International. Owen was inducted into Sigma’s International Nursing Honor Society in 2017 and her work as chapter Past-President was instrumental in the achievement of Zeta Pi’s fifth Chapter Key Award, the first in 18 years.
