Brandi Showalter, PhD, RN, CCRP has over 25 years in nursing experience. Although, she has worked in multiple nursing areas including critical care, med/surg, oncology and psychiatry, the majority of her career has been in the area of clinical research nursing. Dr. Showalter was integral in the development and implementation of a first of its kind Research Nurse Residency for newly graduated nurses. She has multiple peer-reviewed publications and has presented on her doctoral research, Moral Distress in Clinical Research Nurses, and the Research Nurse Residency at several conferences. Dr. Showalter’s research interests include ethical issues in clinical research, specifically in research nursing, and professional education of clinical research professionals.

Dr. Showalter received her BSN from Dallas Baptist University in 1993 and her MS in nursing from Texas Woman’s University -Houston in 2012. In 2020, she earned her PhD from Texas Woman’s University.
