Achante Sellars, DNP, CRNA, currently holds the rank of assistant professor in the graduate studies department of the Cizik School of Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Achante obtained her BSN from the Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth in 2014. Afterwards, she worked at LBJ hospital in the medical/surgical intensive care unit. In 2018, she also worked at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the heart failure intensive care unit. In 2023 she received her DNP from the Cizik School of Nursing. Achante’s DNP project focused on the implementation of cognitive aids in the operating room for perioperative crisis events. She currently has a clinical nurse anesthesia practice at HCA Kingwood.

Clinical/Research Focus
Achante Sellars focuses on training and educating the next generation of nurse anesthesia providers while performing anesthesia across the lifespan and for a variety of surgical cases. She has a special interest in opioid sparing techniques and providing culturally competent care.
