Lisa W. Thomas, DNP, RN, CNS, is a Clinical Nurse Specialist, with over 15 years of experience in the rehabilitation setting, managing staff education needs and clinical consultations for this population. A graduate of the Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston DNP Executive Nurse Leadership program, she joined the faculty of the Acute and Continuing Care Department in 2016, and continues to pursue clinical practice opportunities with TIRR Memorial Hermann and the UT Stroke Institute, and issues pertaining to DNP preparation are her educational focus.

Dr. Thomas’s research interests include facilitating adjustment to disability, and nurses’ transition into practice. Optimizing care quality through nurse-initiated projects is a continuing passion.
