Michael Brown, PhD, MSN, RN, holds a Certificate in Leadership in Simulation Instruction and Management and concentrates his research efforts on the development of clinical reasoning and clinical judgment through innovative teaching methods. Dr. Brown has 26 years of medical experience with the past 15 years focused on nursing care and education.
Dr. Brown started his medical career as a Combat Medic in the U.S. Army and proceeded to obtain an Associate Degree in Nursing from Amarillo College. He advanced his education through the “Nursing by the Numbers” educational grant where he soon was awarded a combined accelerated degree where he received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Masters in Nursing Education from West Texas A&M. After 10 years of clinical and didactic nursing instruction, Dr. Brown graduated from the Cizik School of Nursing in 2016 with his PhD in Nursing Science. Dr. Brown has held clinical faculty positions at multiple local nursing programs and continues to support the community needs for new nurses.
