Mandi Marie Lyons, DNP, MSN, RN, WHNP-BC, CHSE, has worked in nursing education since 2014. Her previous nursing experience includes working with women throughout their lifespan ranging from postpartum bedside nursing (RN) to working with women in the surrounding community of Houston, TX as a women’s health nurse practitioner (WHNP). 

She received her BSN from Indiana University of South Bend in 2002 and her WHNP from Cizik School of Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2012. She received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2019 from Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston and continues to be a part of Sigma Theta Tau International, Nursing Honor Society.

Dr. Lyons currently teaches Reproductive Health in the undergraduate program, where she has enjoyed creating the program’s maternal-fetal simulation content, with a large focus on creating confident and knowledgeable future nurses.  Her passion for women’s health and nursing continues to ignite her momentum in improving nursing education and the future health of women and families.

Clinical/Research Focus

Dr. Lyons’s current research interest includes use of simulation in nursing education, patient education, breastfeeding and empowering women to manage their health effectively.
