Chukwudi Ekwemalor, PhD, MBA, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner whose nursing practice has spanned the Licensed Vocational, Registered Nurse, and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse levels in the last 15 years in various settings, but mostly in psychiatric and mental health facilities/clinics in Houston.
Ekwemalor was one of two Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholars in the philanthropically supported second cohort of the Accelerated PhD in Nursing program and received his doctoral degree from Cizik School of Nursing in Aug. 2016. His PhD dissertation: “Treatment Recidivism in Adolescents with Mental Illness: A Focused Applied Medical Ethnography” was published in the Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing in 2017.
Ekwemalor earned a post-master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program and master’s in Nursing Education at UTHealth Houston. He completed his baccalaureate education and obtained the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Prairie View A&M University, College of Nursing. He also holds an MBA with a major in Financial Management, which followed his undergraduate studies in his native country before his immigration to the United States.
