Matthew Lewis

Dr. Lewis grew up in a military family and lived in numerous locations, including Germany, prior to settling in the Houston area in the late 1990s. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, he worked in cardiac intensive care in the Texas Medical Center where he developed a passion for physiology and pharmacology. Dr. Lewis served as faculty in the Nurse Anesthesia Division at the Cizik School of Nursing from 2013 to 2021. In 2022, he left academia to explore clinical operations, quality, and data analytics working for a large national anesthesia group. Dr. Lewis rejoined the Nurse Anesthesia Division at the Cizik School of Nursing in 2025. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, hiking, college football, and spending time with his wife and two children.
