Hongyu Wang, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging and Institute of Molecular Medicine. She is also a Co-Director of Clinical & Translational Proteomics Service Center at IMM. She received her M.D. from Southeast University, China and Ph.D. from University of Kiel, Germany where her work focused on transplantation immunology. She started her postdoctoral training at Baylor College of Medicine concentrated on hematopoietic stem cell differentiation, cancer immunotherapy and gene therapy. She joined UTHealth Houston IMM in 2008 and became an assistant professor in 2016. In September 2019, she joined Cizik School of Nursing as an Interim Director of Research Department Laboratory.

Clinical/Research Focus

Dr. Wang’s current research works focus on biomarker discovery and targeted cancer therapy.
