Suhyun Park, PhD, is an Assistant Professor on the Research Track at UTHealth Houston Cizik School of Nursing. Her work bridges frontline clinical nursing practice with advanced health information technology to improve safety, efficiency, and usability in complex care settings. Dr. Park earned her PhD in Nursing with a focus on informatics from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities, and her MSN and BSN from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea. Her clinical background includes experience as a medical-surgical nurse at Ewha Womans University Medical Center and as a clinical instructor at Ewha Womans University College of Nursing.
Dr. Park’s research centers on the human-centered design of health information technologies, including artificial intelligence systems that align with nurses’ real-world workflows. She uses innovative informatics methods to examine nurses’ cognitive and physical interactions with technology, such as eye-tracking simulation, formative prototyping, qualitative interviews, and large-scale electronic health record analysis. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences. She is enthusiastic about collaborating with clinicians, informaticians, and health system partners to advance human-centered innovations in nursing and health information technology.
