Dr. Suhyun Park, PhD, RN, is an Assistant Professor on the Research Track at UTHealth Houston Cizik School of Nursing. She earned her PhD in Nursing from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and both her MSN and BSN from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea. Dr. Park’s professional experience includes roles as a medical-surgical nurse at Ewha Womans University Medical Center and a clinical instructor at Ewha Womans University College of Nursing.

Dr. Park’s research focuses on improving the usability of EHRs by examining how nurses utilize EHR information in their workflow. She employs novel informatics approaches to identify the cognitive behaviors of nurses when interacting with EHRs. In her dissertation, she utilized an eye-tracking approach to identify nurses’ real-time information use in an EHR. The ultimate goal of her research is to guide the development of user-centered EHR designs that support nursing workflow. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and she has presented her findings at national and international conferences.
