Biobehavioral Approaches To Pain: Urban & Rural Issues:
A working retreat toward interdisciplinary collaborations in biobehavioral pain research
This dynamic symposium, sponsored by the Cizik Nursing Research Institute at UTHealth Houston and the Suzie Conway Endowed Professorship in Nursing, is designed to foster interdisciplinary collaborations in biobehavioral pain research. Utilizing the NIH Symptom Science Model as our framework, we will explore cutting-edge methods for characterizing pain phenotypes, identifying novel biomarkers, and innovating clinical interventions. Our ultimate goal is to collectively outline strategies and actionable deliverables for establishing a university-wide Center of Excellence in biobehavioral pain research. Join scientists from diverse disciplines to enhance our collective impact and increase multi-PI proposals, specifically integrating nurse scientists into innovative, cross-disciplinary teams.
Students may bring recent posters related to biobehavioral pain research for display and awards.
Breakfast and lunch will be served, with reception to follow the event.
