Commencement ceremony for nursing students graduating in the Summer 2024, Fall 2024, & Spring 2025 semesters.
Commencement speaker: Abbie Stockard, Miss America 2025, is a senior Bachelor of Science in Nursing student at Auburn University in Alabama. A native of Birmingham, Ala., Stockard comes from a family of health care professionals, and her twin brother, Bradley, is also a nursing student at Auburn.
As Miss America, Stockard is spending the year traveling to inspire other women and to advocate for cystic fibrosis (CF) research and the American Heart Association’s Go RED for Women initiative. Inspired by her best friend, who is living with CF, Stockard works to raise awareness of the disease’s impact on patients, families, and communities. She supports initiatives such as ensuring access to life-changing therapies and telemedicine for rural patients.
Stockard is a member of Auburn’s Tiger Paws Dance Team. She plans to work as a pediatric nurse and aspires to eventually become a nurse anesthetist.
