2023 Geriatric Medication Safety Symposium
Event Description
Join fellow practitioners, researchers, residents, fellows and students in the fields of medicine, nursing, pharmacy and dentistry as the Geriatric Medication Safety Symposium delves into some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities in cognitive decline in older adult population.
Presented in-person and in virtual formats, the symposium will feature poster and podium presentations with awards for top presentations, networking opportunities, and plenary sessions and workshops led by nationally recognized speakers.
The lineup of speakers include:
- Joseph W. Shega, M.D., Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, VITAS Healthcare
- Ryan M. Carnahan, Pharm.D., M.S., Professor & Director of Graduate Studies, College of Public Health, The University of Iowa
- Katie Scott, MPH, President, CarePartners, Houston
- Carolyn K. Clevenger, R.N., DNP, AGPCNP-BC, GNP-BC, FAANP, Professor & Associate Dean for Transformative Clinical Practice,
- Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, Emory University
The cost is $100 for professionals, and $50 for students, residents and fellows. In additional to cutting-edge research in geriatric and general medication safety/use, the availability of continuing education credits are expected to be finalized soon.
The symposium will be held at the Denton A. Cooley, MD & Ralph C. Cooley, DDS University Life Center, 7440 Cambridge St, Houston, TX 77054.
