Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Track Sample Curriculum

Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston offers students with graduate degrees in nursing the opportunity to prepare to practice as an Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) through our nondegree post-graduate completion program.

Advance Practice Core Curriculum

The core curriculum courses listed below are required for all nurse practitioner tracks. Students who are not currently advance practice registered nurses (APRNs) nurses complete these courses before advancing to the population-specific curriculum for the AGACNP track. Students who are currently APRNs may obtain equivalency credit for previously completed core courses based on an internal gap analysis.

AGACNP Curriculum

The courses listed below may be taken after students have completed the courses listed above or have been granted equivalency credit for the core curriculum courses based on an internal gap analysis of previous coursework.

*Students who are currently APRNs are not required to take the clinical courses indicated with an asterisk.
