Undergraduate Students:

SCHOOL POLICY S1030 requires all undergraduate students who fail or withdraw from a course or who want to revise their degree plan to submit a petition to the Baccalaureate Council (BC) for approval.   

  1. You must submit a revised degree plan along with your request. It is important to contact your Advisor regarding your revised degree plan. (Please note:  If you withdraw from a course or fail a course, you will have a “Nursing Advisor Hold” on your student account and will not be able to register for future classes until you have approval from the BC to revise your degree plan and your Advisor has removed the “Nursing Advisor Hold”.)
  2. You will be notified by SCHOOL email of the Council’s decision.
  3. To be formally considered on the meeting agenda your petition must be submitted via the link below.  
  4. Click here to submit your request and revised degree plan. Please submit only one (1) request.

Graduate Students (Reinstatement Request):

SCHOOL POLICY requires all graduate students who were not enrolled for more than one semester to petition the Graduate Council (Master's, DNP, or PhD) for reinstatement into the Graduate MSN, DNP, or PhD program. This request is made in writing and submitted to the Council for approval through this portal one week before the councils meet.

You can also petition the council for reinstatement after Dismissal through the same portal in writing, it will be submitted to the Council for approval.

Graduate students should update their planner, if applicable; and email a revised degree plan that has been signed by student and advisor to SONGradDegreePlan@uth.tmc.edu.  DO NOT SUBMIT THE PETITION FOR REINSTATEMENT TO EMAIL ADDRESS.

Councils generally meet once a month (Masters meet 2nd Friday of the month, DNP meet 1st Wednesday of the month, PhD meet 4th Friday of the month). You can expect to receive an email with the Council's decision within 3 to 5 business days after the meeting.
