Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston now offers a first-of-its-kind educational series to prepare nurse practitioners and physician assistants for the Certified Cardiovascular Knowledge Examination (CCKE) offered by the American College of Cardiology® (ACC).

This online, self-paced series provides didactic instruction to support in-person clinical fellowships and training. The information presented is in accordance with the 2020 cardiovascular advanced provider knowledge competencies defined by the ACC and American Heart Association. 

Each series or course purchased will be accessible for one year after registration.

The CCKE is offered twice a year by the ACC.

Cardiovascular Advanced Practice - Part 1

Part 1 of the series includes 11 three-hour courses that provide a comprehensive overview of cardiovascular care. The entire series provides 33 contact hours of nursing continuing professional development for $2,100. Alternatively, advanced practice providers may choose to purchase individual courses that each provide three contact hours for $250 apiece. Learn more and register.

Cardiovascular Advanced Practice - Part 2

Part 2, which will be available soon, will comprise 10 two-hour courses that will provide more in-depth information about specialty areas such as heart failure, congenital heart disease in adults, and cardio-oncology. Watch for details to come.
