Students share research at Scholars’ Day
Student researchers delivered intriguing presentations to a full room of attentive classmates, faculty, and alumni during the 2025 Scholars’ Day on Nov. 20 at Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston.
Thirty-five graduate and undergraduate students participated in this year’s event, delivering oral presentations, lightning talks, and elevator speeches.
“I was delighted to attend my first Scholars’ Day at Cizik School of Nursing, and I am impressed by the depth and breadth of the research projects our students are undertaking,” said Ansley Stanfill, PhD, RN, FAAN, who joined the school as associate dean of research in August.
The event was bookended by doctoral students delivering youth-focused keynote presentations. Scholar’s Day chair Suhyun Park, PhD, RN, kicked off the day by introducing PhD student Hannah Zeller, BSN, RN, CPN, with her presentation, “Adolescents with Cystic Fibrosis, a Concept Analysis.” Kabresha Potts, BSN, RN, a DNP student on the Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner track, closed things out with her presentation, “Reclaiming Teen Recovery: Tailored Therapeutic Recreation to Boost Engagement, Satisfaction, and Participation.”
