The Ambassador Program at Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston gives Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students the opportunity to learn and develop leadership skills for success in the workplace.
This extracurricular program is led by senior faculty members and provides leadership development activities in addition to students’ coursework. Ambassadors may also represent the school at special events.
Senior BSN students maintaining a GPA of at least 3.5 may apply to participate in the Fall, Spring or Summer semesters. Ambassadors are entitled to wear green recognition cords with their regalia at Commencement.
To learn more about the program or to apply, contact Academic Success Coach Linda Brown, PhD.
Cizik School of Nursing alumna and long-time supporter Deborah “Debbie” Adams (BSN ’84) established the Ambassador Program in 2016 so students can learn management, teamwork, and communication skills to lead the next generation of nurses. Through her continued support, the school’s Leadership Academy launched in the Fall 2022 semester with a leadership simulation bringing BSN Ambassadors together with Master of Science in Nursing students in the Nursing Leadership program.
