Multiple hardships may lead to food insecurity among mothers of young children, according to findings recently published by Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston researchers.

Andrea Ancer Leal and Miguel De La Mora, Doctor of Nursing Practice students at Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston, want to help undergraduates interested in mental health.

Associate Professor Daphne Hernandez, PhD, MSEd, FAAHB, is the primary investigator on a Feeding America grant that is studying food pantry usage in Houston, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students practiced physical and psychological first aid, CPR/AED skills, mass casualty search and triage, and active shooter response.

Haley DeLaGarza, DNP, CRNA, is stepping up to become the program director of Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston’s highly rated nurse anesthesia program, and Amy Blok, DNP, CRNA, will become the program’s assistant director effective July 16, 2022.
