Get Started
Your first step will be completing the prerequisites necessary for admission to Cizik School of Nursing’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
You can start by:
- Taking advanced-placement and/or dual credit courses while still in high school.
- Applying to a two-year or four-year college or university to complete at least 24-30 hours of the required 60 hours of nursing prerequisites.
- Then, you may choose to apply to Cizik School of Nursing's Pre-Nursing pathway to earn 24-27 hours of nursing science prerequisites, or you may complete all 60 prerequisite hours at another institution. Students who earn a grade of “B” or better in each required science course in our Pre-Nursing pathway will be eligible for direct admission to the accelerated Pacesetter BSN program without taking nursing school entrance exams.
- Study hard! Cizik School of Nursing is highly competitive, and our graduates are highly sought after. A 3.0 GPA is the minimum required for admission, but since you will be competing against top students, a higher GPA is usually required for acceptance.
- If you earn all prerequisites at another institution, apply to the 15-month Pacesetter BSN program when you have completed at least 48 prerequisite hours, including 16 hours of required science courses. You must also take the HESI A2 entrance exam or the TEAS exam.
- If you choose to complete a two-year Associate of Nursing degree and become an RN, you may apply to our RN to BSN program to earn your BSN and improve your career prospects.
