Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Track at a Glance
With online courses and on-campus clinical requirements, the Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) specialty track at Cizik School of Nursing prepares you to work with patients with complex health issues across the continuum of acute care services. As a student in the AGACNP nursing track, you may take advantage of valuable clinical opportunities within the world-famous Texas Medical Center or at hospitals and practices throughout the state.
Upon completion, you can apply to take the national certification exam offered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB). Once certified, you can then apply for an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Texas.
