Learning the lingo
Familiarizing yourself with these terms and abbreviations will help you complete the tasks required before starting class.
ApplyUTH: This is the system accessible to prospective students. Applications for most of our academic programs are submitted through this portal, all prospective students will use ApplyUTH to track their application status.
Nursing Centralized Application System (NCAS): Prospective students applying to our nurse practitioner programs will initiate the process using NCAS and later track their status through ApplyUTH.
MyUTH: This the system you will use to register for courses, view your schedule, pay tuition, etc.
Student ID number: You will find this six-digit number at the top of any page once you are logged into the ApplyUTH or MyUTH system.
IDM (Identification Management): Before you can gain access to UTHealth Houston systems and get a uth.tmc.edu email address, we must verify your identity. Completing this process if the first step you must take after acceptance to Cizik School of Nursing.
Registration hold: If you have not completed a required task, a “hold” will be placed on your account that will prevent you from registering. Common reasons for accounts holds include failure to complete the IDM process, submit vaccination documentation, complete your mandatory drug screening, make required payments, or complete the criminal background checks required by UTHealth Houston and the Texas Board of Nursing.
Canvas: This is the course management system you will use throughout your enrollment at Cizik School of Nursing.
E*Value and EXXAT: Depending on which degree you are pursuing, you will use one of these systems to enter information and documentation about your immunization and health screening status.
