BSN to DNP Nurse Anesthesia Track at a Glance
The first BSN to DNP Nurse Anesthesia track offered at a public university in Texas, Cizik School of Nursing has the highest certification pass rate in the southern United States. We prepare graduates to manage the anesthesia needs of patients of all ages, from pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation to anesthesia planning, administration, monitoring, and postanesthetic care. Students learn to administer all types of anesthesia, including general, regional, and neuraxial anesthesia.
As part of our well-rounded DNP curriculum, our Nurse Anesthesia track provides education and experiences in areas such as quality improvement and systems leadership, equipping our students with foundational elements to improve quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness for all patient populations.
Graduates are eligible to take the National Certification Examination (NCE) for Nurse Anesthetists offered by the National Board on Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). Board certification is required to practice as a nurse anesthetist.
